How to prepare and care for your treatments

Stacked black stones with flowers and a lit candle for relaxation.

Injectables

Before your visit: Avoid anything that increases bleeding or bruising for 5–7 days prior to your appointment. This includes alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and certain supplements (unless medically necessary).

Come to your appointment with a clean face and no active skin infections or irritation in the treatment area. If you are prone to cold sores, let us know ahead of time so we can prescribe preventive medication.

Please reschedule if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or feeling unwell.

After your appointment: Mild redness, swelling, and bruising are normal and typically resolve within a few days. Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated areas for at least 24 hours.

Stay upright for 6 hours after treatment and avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas, and excessive heat for the remainder of the day.

Results will continue to settle over the next 1–2 weeks. If you experience significant pain, blanching, or unusual symptoms, contact our office immediately.

Microneedling/Morpheus8/Lumecca IPL/CO2 Solaria

Avoid sun exposure, tanning, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior. Discontinue retinoids, vitamin C, active acids, and exfoliating products for 3–5 days before treatment.

Skin should be clean and free of irritation or active infection. No makeup, arrive with clean skin please.

Certain medications and conditions may increase sensitivity—please disclose all medications during your consultation.

After your appointment: Expect redness, swelling, and peeling for 5–7 days or longer, depending on treatment depth. Skin will feel warm and tight as it heals.

Keep the skin moisturized with a gentle, occlusive product and follow all aftercare instructions provided. Do not pick or peel the skin. Avoid retinol, vitamin C, and active ingredients for 3 days post treatments. No working out or makeup for 48 hours. Avoid sun exposure completely during healing and use strict SPF once skin has recovered. Contact us immediately with any signs of infection or unusual discomfort. Cooling compresses can be used to minimize itch or discomfort.

Facials, Dermaplane, Chemical Peels

Please arrive with clean, makeup free skin. Avoid harsh facial products 3 days prior to your appointment. Please have a list of your current skincare products, medications or allergies.

After your appointment- follow your estheticians recommendations. Chemical Peels- use gentle products for the first week, then continue your usual regimen.

Spray Tan

For best results, exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment, focusing on dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles. Avoid using oil-based scrubs or products.

Do not apply lotion, oils, deodorant, perfume, or makeup the day of your appointment, as this can create a barrier and affect the tan.

Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment and avoid shaving or waxing the day of your tan.

After your appointment: Avoid water, sweating, and tight clothing for 6–8 hours after your tan (or as directed based on your solution).

When you rinse, use lukewarm water only—no soap—and gently pat dry. Your full color will continue to develop over the next 24 hours.

Moisturize daily to extend the life of your tan, and avoid exfoliating, long hot showers, pools, and saunas.

As your tan fades, it will do so gradually. Keep skin hydrated for the most even, natural-looking results.

Weight Loss

Please complete all intake forms prior to your appointment, including medical history, current medications, and previous weight loss efforts.

Come well-hydrated and avoid heavy meals immediately before your visit. Lab work may be required before or after your consultation to ensure safe and personalized treatment.

Be prepared to discuss your goals, lifestyle, and any underlying health conditions so we can create a plan tailored to you.

After your appointment: Follow your customized treatment plan as directed, including medication use, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations. Consistency is key for safe, effective results.

Stay well-hydrated and prioritize protein intake to support muscle mass and overall health. Mild side effects such as nausea or decreased appetite may occur initially and typically improve over time.

Ongoing follow-up appointments are important to monitor progress, adjust dosing, and ensure optimal results. Contact our office with any concerns or persistent side effects.

Laser Hair Removal

Avoid sun exposure, tanning, and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. Skin should be as close to your natural tone as possible for safety and effectiveness.

Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, pluck, or use hair removal creams for 2–4 weeks prior, as the hair root must be present for treatment.

Arrive with clean skin—no lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on the treatment area. Inform us of any new medications, especially antibiotics or photosensitizing agents.

Aftercare: Mild redness and a sunburn-like sensation are common and typically resolve within a few hours. Hair in the treated area will begin to shed over the next 1–2 weeks.

Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours. Do not pick or exfoliate the area until the skin has calmed.

Use gentle skincare and daily SPF. Avoid waxing or plucking between sessions—shaving is permitted.

A series of treatments is required for optimal results, as hair grows in cycles.

Before your appointment

  • Stop using retinol at least 3–5 days prior
  • Why: retinol speeds up cell turnover and makes your skin more sensitive → higher risk of irritation, burns, or hyperpigmentation during laser

After your appointment

  • Wait 5–7 days (sometimes up to 10 if skin is sensitive) before restarting
  • Only resume when:
    • redness is fully gone
    • skin feels calm (no heat, tenderness, or irritation)
